Back by popular demand! You don’t want to miss it!! Fresh pork with all the fixin's roasted throughout the day at the club. Tickets are $7.00 and must be purchased in advance, by Friday, September 9th.

This year also features a dessert contest, for all our closested bakers. It's your chance to show off your goods and win a gift certificate to A Southern Season. Entry instructions are available here.

Ridgewood Club reverts to regular hours when school begins this week. We will now be opening at 4:00pm on week days. Full hours listed at the top of this page.

Back to School Potluck, Friday, Aug. 26th, 6:00pm

It’s a big week in Chapel Hill – BACK TO SCHOOL!! Come greet friends, share news and your favorite foods at the Annual Ridgewood Back to School Potluck, this Friday, August 26, at 6pm. Paper goods and drinks (lemonade, water, iced tea) will be provided. You are also invited to be green and bring your own cutlery from home to reduce the plastic going into the landfill.

Ridgewood Club Annual Membership Meeting on August 22nd, 7:30 pm

Ridgewood Club is having its annual membership meeting and we encourage all members to attend. Please bring your comments or concerns about the past season and your ideas for improving Ridgewood for next season. We are also looking for members who want to help out. Ridgewood Closing Early on July 6th

On Wednesday, July 6th, Ridgewood Club will host the annual CHCCR Sharks swim team pizza party from 6:00 - 8:00pm. The pool will close at 6:00 for non-swim team members.

July 4th Party

The 4th of July is almost here, and we've planned a big celebration! The pool will open at 10:00 a.m. Below is a list of activities and start times. So come on down to Ridgewood this Monday for some patriotism, fun in the sun, and prizes!! For more information, just ask any of your friendly lifeguards.

**Register your team in the adult greased watermelon tournament by 4:30 p.m.

• 1:30 pm - Wet T-Shirt Relay. Two age groups: 10 & under, and 11 & up.
• 1:45 pm - Crazy Dive Contest. Thee age groups: 8 & under, 9-12, and 13 & up
• 2:00 pm - Big Splash Contests. Three age groups: 8 & under, 9-12, and 13 & up
• 2:15 pm - Pigeon. Two age groups: 10 & under and 13 & up
• 2:30 pm - Parent Greased-Watermelon Game. **Volleyball tournament starts afterwards.
• 3:00 pm - Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest. Three groups: 8 & under, 9-12, and 13 & up
• 3:30 pm - Drink toss. (clear pool by 3:20)

Ridgewood Opening Early on July 4th

On Monday, July 4th, Ridgewood Club is extending regular Monday hours and will open at 10:00am for all the Independence Day fun!

Pool Closed Today

Last night, contaminants were thrown into the pool. As a result, the pool will be closed today while staff clean and monitor the water quality. Anyone with information about who may have been involved, please contact the Ridgewood Board.

The Beer 'n' Salsa party scheduled for this evening is still going on as planned, though swimming will not be allowed.

Beer ‘n’ Salsa, June 24th, 8:00pm - 11:00pm

It's time for the 2011 Ridgewood Club Adult Party! This year's theme is Beer ‘n’ Salsa. Bring a few bottles of your favorite beer to share. Homebrews are welcome.

Field Hockey Camp

Ridgewood Club has a new camp for 2011. From June 27th to July 1st, Ridgewood will host a Field Hockey Camp. Rising 5th and 8th graders will learn the game of field hockey. They will develop stick skills, proper holds on a stick, shooting techniques and the rules of the game. Each camper will try all the positions on the field. More advanced players can further their skill and strengthen their fundamentals. Instructors, Emily Shermanski and Margo Richardson, are both members of the back-to-back state champion East Chapel Hill High field hockey team. For more details: 570- 417-9864.

End of School Party, June 10th, 5:30 - 8:00pm

Don't Cook! Come to Ridgewood instead and relax with your family and friends. The OnlyBurger truck will be in the parking lot from 5:30 - 7:30.

Teen Party, June 4th, 8:00 - 11:00pm

The Ridgewood Teen Party is this Saturday from 8:00 to 11:00pm, featuring live music by Reverend B and the WannaBs and Right of Way. Members are welcome to bring guests. There will be door prizes from local merchants (including Best Buy Mobile, Evos, Balega, iTunes), free snacks, swimming, and dancing. Or just hang out with your friends. $5.00 cover charge for all.

T-shirts are $10 each. See the photo here. They only come in green, and currently are only in adult sizes M-XXL. We sold out of youth shirts during the Memorial Day Swim, so if you are interested in a youth shirt let us know. We need to order in batches of 25, but would love to order more youth t-shirts if the interest is there. Please email membership@ridgewoodpool.org to get your shirt. You can pay at the pool and we will deliver you shirts to the pool within 24 hours. Thanks for supporting Ridgewood!

Extended pool hours begin June 11th.

Extended club hours begin June 11th, after school is out. The club will open at 10:00am from Tuesday through Saturday, and 12:00pm on Sunday and Monday. Closing times remain the same.

No Pizza Night this Tuesday.

With the Memorial Day Open House today and the Middle School High School party this coming weekend, Pizza Night will be on hiatus this week. Too much fun already! Pizza Night will be back next Tuesday and every Tuesday for the rest of the season.

Memorial Day Open House and Potluck

Everyone welcome (no guest fees!). Come enjoy a day of swimming, badminton, basketball, soccer, volleyball and socializing with friends at the Ridgewood Club Annual Memorial Day Open House. The snack bar will be open all day! The play structure has new swings! The day culminates with a POTLUCK MEAL at 5pm: al fresco dining pool-side! Bring a dish to share with friends and soon-to-be friends. Drinks and paper goods are provided. NOTE: The NEW Ridgewood Pool T-shirts will be available on Memorial Day!! First come, first served! Get yours early!!

Pool closed due to flooding

The heavy rain this afternoon has flooded the creek and some of the Ridgewood grounds. Ridgewood will close until the water drops to a safer level. Hopefully this will be by tomorrow. We will send an announcement. UPDATE: Pool open for normal hours as of May 28th, 2011.

Ridgewood Club Annual Yard Sale 2011

Ridgewood Club kicks off the season early with the annual yard sale on May 7th from 8:00 to noon in the parking lot. Secure your "parking" spot early for only $10. Swim lessons 2011

Ridgewood Club will again be offering swimming lessons at the pool with Vicky Boreyko. Classes for begining through advanced swimmers are available. See swim lessons for more details, or contact Vicky Boreyko at jboreyko@nc.rr.com.

Interested in leading a camp this summer?

The Board of Directors of Ridgewood Club would like to invite you to submit an application to lead a day camp at Ridgewood Pool this summer. We will approve one camp per week to be held on the grounds of Ridgewood Club. As part of your camp, you may utilize the pool deck, swimming pool, game room, volleyball court, baby pool (for age-appropriate activities), basketball court and playground area. High school students are welcome to run a camp at Ridgewood as long as they have an adult who oversees the activities and paperwork.
